J ohn Champagne returned to Elkton in October of 1975 and took over the operation of Huron Memorial Chapel, which had been in operation under different names since the early 1900's. Jim Colgan was the owner of this establishment at that time. He had three daughters and none were interested in continuing the family business. Since John was a native to the area, he was grateful to see someone local, that knew the area and the people.
